XPost: la.general, alt.politics.media, rec.arts.tv.comedy.colbert-report       XPost: dc.politics       From: ed.buck.helped.gavin-newsom@disney.com              Long before authorities in Los Angeles arrested Ed Buck and       accused him of being a violent sexual predator, he was a Phoenix       businessman-turned-activist shaking up Arizona politics.              Now a major Democratic donor, Buck rose to prominence in the       late 1980s, leading the campaign to recall Republican Gov. Evan       Mecham.              Though Buck had moved on to Los Angeles, his arrest there this       week on suspicion of running a drug house where two men have       died brings new attention to his political connections to       Democrats in the Grand Canyon State.              Buck, 65, faces felony charges of battery causing serious       injury, administering methamphetamine and maintaining a drug       house, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said in a       statement Wednesday.              Prosecutors say a 37-year-old man survived a methamphetamine       overdose at Buck's West Hollywood house last week. At least two       other men have been found dead there in recent years.              The men were black, and members of the black LGBTQ community in       the city have been calling for action.              In charges filed this week, prosecutors are accusing Buck of       preying on men dealing with addiction and homelessness,       according to The Los Angeles Times.              The deaths and mounting calls for action have rippled through       Arizona, making Buck a political liability for Democrats in the       state during recent years.              The Arizona Republic found then-Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema was       among the top individual recipients of Buck's contributions at       the federal level since 2004.              The Democrat, who won a seat in the U.S. Senate last year,       quietly unloaded $33,800 to charity.              Campaign finance records also show Buck backing a few Democrats       for office at the state level.              Buck donated $840 to Andrei Cherny's campaign for treasurer in       2010, according to campaign finance records. He also donated       $840 to Sam Wercinski's campaign for Secretary of State in 2010       and $140 to Terry Goddard's exploratory committee for governor       in 2009, campaign finance records show.              But the state's campaign finance record portal does not show any       more recent donations to candidates.              https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/arizona/2019/09/18       /ed-buck-democratic-party-donor-arrested-la-drug-       scandal/2364870001/              TAGS: Barack Obama Homosexual Degenerate Gay Pedophile Democrat       Liberalism Pervert CNN CBS ABC NBC Disney MSNBC Faggots Hillary       Clinton Racist Queer Progressive Antifa Faggots NAMBLA                      --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
