   Carol Gnade, the executive director of the ACLU, states in her   
   letter of Sept. 19 that defending the North American Man-Boy Love   
   Association (NAMBLA) is merely defending free speech. Just as the   
   ACLU chooses to only deal with First Amendment issues, so could it   
   choose to deny legal assistance to this heinous sex club if it   
   wanted.   
      
   NAMBLA has a flagrantly wicked goal, and that is the legalization of   
   grown men having sex with underage boys. Pedophilia plain and   
   simple. I don't care how the ACLU tries to justify the legal defense   
   of this organization as a free-speech issue; their legal assistance   
   is nothing more than promoting child sex abuse.   
      
   J. Satinover, in his excellent book, "Homosexuality and the Politics   
   of Truth," reports "The San Francisco Sentinel, a Bay Area gay-   
   activist newspaper, published a piece arguing that pedophilia is   
   central to the male homosexual life. Thus an advocacy group exists,   
   the North American Man-Boy Love Association, which actively promotes   
   homosexual pedophilia as an acceptable alternative form of sex.   
   Their contentions as to the naturalness, normalcy and   
   unchangeability of pedophilia mirror precisely the arguments used to   
   support the naturalness, normalcy and so on of homosexuality, as   
   does their claim that the social condemnation of pedophilia is   
   arbitrary and prejudicial."   
      
   The ACLU needs to distance itself from this evil NAMBLA organization   
   and instead take a stand to protect children from sexual child   
   abuse. Has the ACLU lost the ability to possess common sense and   
   public decency?
