|    Bud Light given away as Budweiser tries     |

XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.transgendered, talk.politics.guns       XPost: alt.politics.republicans       From: spencer_@verio.com              Budweiser is giving away beer after a conservative boycott triggered by       its partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.              The marketing debacle wiped $15.75 billion (£12.77 billion) off the value       of parent company, Anheuser-Busch.              Earlier this year, Budweiser tried to broaden its customer base with       Mulvaney, who hailed the company in a social media clip in which she said:       “This month I celebrated my day 365 of womanhood, and Bud Light sent me       possibly the best gift ever, a can with my face on it.”              Bud Light sales dropped by more than 25 per cent in the weeks following       the Mulvaney post.              With the Memorial Day weekend approaching the company has offered a       “summer rebate” to customers who buy a 15-pack or larger of Bud Light,       Budweiser, Budweiser Select or Budweiser Select 55.              The rebate comes in the form of a prepaid credit card, provided on proof       of purchase, and customers are limited to two promotional packs.              Rebates are frequently used in the US to stimulate business. However,       according to the latest statistics, less than half are cashed in.              The brewing giant has turned to desperate measures to undo the damage       endured by the brand.              Celebrities who turned on the company included Kid Rock, who demonstrated       his distaste for the “woke” product by unleashing a volley of bullets at       cases of the brand’s drinks.              Group of men chugging Buds       Two executives who managed the Mulvaney campaign were placed on leave.              The brewer launched a publicity blitz within weeks extolling its       traditional American values. But the images of a Clydesdale horse       galloping across iconic American landscapes and a group of men chugging       Buds have failed to convince the public.              Earlier this week Anheuser-Busch tried to mollify wholesalers by offering       to buy back unsold cases of Bud Light.              “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people,” said       Brendan Whitworth, a rather chastened Anheuser-Busch chief executive.              “We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”              Squidsie       14 hours ago              If you have to pay people to drink your beer, you're doing something       wrong.              Richard       1 day ago              Yes, they brought people together to buy a different beer!              wonder       14 hours ago              As a aside the people who run Target must be brain damaged to show female       bathing suits for children with built in jocks. If they are not careful       they just might also get a lesson in consumer wrath. If they do not remove       them I will not shop there.              https://news.yahoo.com/bud-light-given-away-budweiser-162956636.html              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
