   FedEx robbery in Memphis

*A flash mob robbery of a FedEx semi-trailer is at the center of
an investigation by Memphis police. The crime, which occurred
just after 8:30 pm on Nov. 11, occurred during a “deliberate”
   traffic jam.

Police reveal thieves broke into the 53-foot semi-trailer,
stealing dozens of packages. Cell phone video capturing the
incident shows the thieves taking boxes in a “deliberately
caused” traffic jam at the intersection of Riverport Road and
Mallory Avenue. The video also showed a man in a red hoodie, who
was seen tossing boxes out of the back of the FedEx truck while
others grabbed the boxes off the roadway.

Although a large safety latch was used to seal the trailer, the
FedEx driver stated the suspects easily broke the latch with an
   unknown tool.

Going off a tip from security at the Breezy Point Apartments,
Sandra Rose reports the three suspects were arrested at the
complex on Sunday (Nov. 12). In addition to detaining the
suspects, authorities recovered some of the stolen packages.

The arrests came after police reportedly put the entire Breezy
Point Apartments complex on lockdown and ordered residents to
remain inside their apartments. From there, security officers
said they noticed three men sitting inside a white car that
   smelled of marijuana smoke.

6X9, one vehicle headlight, one 14-piece pot and pan set, a box
of air lines and three Direct TV cable boxes, FOX13 Memphis
   reported.
In a statement regarding the incident, FedEx expressed its
willingness to cooperate fully with investigating authorities.

customers’ shipments are top priorities, and we are grateful
there were no serious injuries as a result of this incident,”
the company stated. “We are cooperating fully with investigating
