Where I worked there were several areas of unskilled. The company had
to pay a good wage as the jobs were rotating shifts. The labor was not
hard. They would bring in about 20 people at a time and at the end of
the month it would be lucky if one or two stayed. There were about 2500
jobs in the plant for general workers. In about 6 years the company
went through around 4000 people. Many just could not handle the rotating
shifts. You could even take early retirment at 55 if yu had been there
for 30 years. Good pension and most of the medical insurance paid for.
