XPost: talk.politics.misc, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.politics.trump       XPost: talk.politics.guns, sac.politics       From: ac@alt.net              President Donald Trump made news on Tuesday night when he announced a       historic trade deal with Japan, which followed news earlier in the day       of a deal with Indonesia.              Speaking to congressional Republicans at an event in the East Room at       the White House, President Trump announced that he had just "signed the       largest trade deal in history" with Japan.                     "I think maybe the largest deal in history. They had their top people       here, and we worked on it long and hard. And it's a great deal for       everybody," Trump said, noting that there was "a lot of money" flowing       into the U.S.              READ MORE: Not Tired of Winning Yet: Trump Announces Trade Deal With       Vietnam              "The tariffs kicked in better than anybody, other than me and a few       other people in the room, thought could happen," he added.                     "We concluded the one deal [with Japan] and now we're going to conclude       another one because they're forming a joint venture with us in Alaska       for the LNG... they're all set to make that deal now," Trump continued.              In a Truth Social post, Trump elaborated on the deal and wrote:                     We just completed a massive Deal with Japan, perhaps the largest Deal       ever made. Japan will invest, at my direction, $550 billion into the       United States, which will receive 90% of the Profits. This Deal will       create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs — There has never been anything       like it.              Perhaps most importantly, Japan will open their Country to Trade       including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products,       and other things. Japan will pay Reciprocal Tariffs to the United States       of 15%. This is a very exciting time for the United States of America,       and especially for the fact that we will continue to always have a great       relationship with the Country of Japan. Thank you for your attention to       this matter!              RELATED: Winning: Trump Admin Announces Yuge Trade Pact With United       Kingdom              Breaking: Trump Gets Big Win in Deal With China              The news followed a release from the White House earlier in the day       about the framework for another reciprocal trade with Indonesia.              The press release read:              Today, the United States of America (the United States) and the Republic       of Indonesia (Indonesia) agreed to a Framework for negotiating an       Agreement on Reciprocal Trade to strengthen our bilateral economic       relationship, which will provide both countries' exporters unprecedented       access to each other's markets. The Agreement on Reciprocal Trade will       build upon our longstanding economic relationship, including the       U.S.-Indonesia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement, signed on July       16, 1996.              Parts of the deal include the following:              Indonesia will eliminate approximately 99 percent of tariff barriers for       a full range of U.S. industrial and U.S. food and agricultural products       exported to Indonesia.              The United States will reduce to 19 percent the reciprocal tariffs, as       set forth in Executive Order 14257 of April 2, 2025, on originating       goods of Indonesia, and may also identify certain commodities that are       not naturally available or domestically produced in the United States       for a further reduction in the reciprocal tariff rate.              The United States and Indonesia will negotiate facilitative rules of       origin that ensure that the benefits of the agreement accrue primarily       to the United States and Indonesia.              The United States and Indonesia have also committed to address and       prevent barriers to U.S. food and agricultural products in the       Indonesian market, including exempting U.S. food and agricultural       products from all import licensing regimes, including commodity balance       requirements; ensuring transparency and fairness with respect to       geographical indications; providing permanent Fresh Food of Plant Origin       (FFPO) designation for all applicable U.S. plant products; and       recognizing U.S. regulatory oversight, including listing of all U.S.       meat, poultry, and dairy facilities and accepting certificates issued by       U.S. regulatory authorities.              Indonesia will remove restrictions on exports to the United States of       industrial commodities, including critical minerals.              The entire deal can be found here.              https://redstate.com/katie-jerkovich/2025/07/22/trump-announces-historic-              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
