   ST. LOUIS — Peabody Energy (NYSE: BTU) will move its headquarters from   
   downtown St. Louis to Des Peres, its landlord confirmed Friday.   
      
   The public coal company will move from 701 Market St., a tower that bears   
   its name, including with large signage, to 1245 J.J. Kelley Memorial   
   Drive, an Edward Jones building in Des Peres.   
      
   Peabody, which has been downtown for 70 years, said in a statement,   
   "Peabody has been a proud corporate citizen of St. Louis since the 1950s,   
   and we look forward to our ongoing commitment as we continue to host our   
   global headquarters in the area." No timeline for the move was given.   
      
   Briar Meads Capital owns the 15-story tower; its managing director, Seth   
   Berkowitz, said Friday that "we wish the Peabody Company the very best."   
   The New York-based real estate investment management firm bought Peabody   
   Plaza for $35 million in 2020.
