Our Supreme Court's current 6-3 conservative majority (thanks to       three Trump appointments) makes it highly unlikely to act as a major check on       the his power. He is so over the top, though, they have been doing so to some       extent.              This isn't limited to just SCOTUS. The current conservative twisted legal       landscape is from a deliberate, long-term strategy led by Mitch McConnell. As       Senate Majority Leader, he systematically blocked President Obama's lower       court nominees (creating over 100 vacancies) and bent the rules to keep seat       open. Once President Trump took office, McConnell fast-tracked the       confirmation of three SCOTUS Justices and over 200 young, conservative federal       judges to lower courts. This has pushed a right wing and often extremist       federal judiciary that will be around for decades. Our courts are not very       much activists against equal rights.                     --       It's impossible for someone who is at war with themselves to be at peace with       you.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
