Companies manufacturer what sells and music is cultural and products that
tie to culture is what sells because that is all that people general give a
shit about. Especially in the young generations. To be honest, music and
consumer devices that enable people to watch/listen things of the culture
and trends is what is going to sell. It always was for over 100 years.

People look at what does or can this device do for me and my needs and
interests. Period. That is business guys and how many of us are going to
focus on spending all our money on just Commodore stuff and games. Ok, there
are some but lets face it, the mystical awe of digital computers is OVER.
The awe power (which is a marketing bonus) is long gone since the C64. In
fact, in some ways, the C64 did itself in along with the PC & PC clones
   doing themselves in.

Now the PC is just a tool/appliance like the Microwave and Oven. You only
get 10-20 years. Now, how much awe is with automobiles. Lets face it, it is
no longer the new kid on the block. Human nature is to buy the newest thing
out there because people have in innate jealousy/envy that if their friend
has one, he or she has to buy one too or a better one. Call it subconcious
nature. In some people, it is more obvious in some people than other people.

Oh yeah, I heard this buzz-word, "Me Too". BLAH!!!! Throw it in the trash.
All PC manufacturers are "Me Too". If you aren't the FIRST in anything then
you are a 'me too'. That is what it means. PERIOD. Hopeless term. In fact,
Commodore wasn't the first and arguably the first with an 8-Bit personal
computer. But still, Commodore was a 'me too' in the calculator days. "Me
too" is just another modern lingo to say that the company is not the first
one to introduce a certain kind of product to the market. In other words, #2
and after is 'me too'. So lets not care if Commodore is the first or not the
first in something. Period. Oh yeah, the terminology applies mostly to any
non-proprietary product that is not the first. Oh yeah, WTF does anyone want
something that is proprietary that they can't use it? It can't play CDs. It
can't play my music files that I've downloaded. Yeah, all it plays is the
.sids. Ok, now do you get it. C64 is proprietary and its media is ONLY used
by a relatively selected few. Very few use C64 and its software for any
serious task or usage with maybe an exception of demo or game development -
if you call it serious and maybe a user group's newsletter. Other than a few
exceptions, what can anyone expect from Commodore or any company entering
the electronics industry. As it is, the awe and mystery the digital
electronics industry is in ways dieing. There is about 10-15 years left at
most. Then its bio-electronic implants. The culture is moving so fast that
it will push into that stage. If anything, it will become no longer some
handheld device but a bio-interface chip and new generations of homes that
the environment of the home and everything can be changed with a single
thought depending on your mood and interest. That is tomorrow. 1980s is gone
and the industry and consumer culture is pressing every ounce to move into
   this futuristic cyber/VR digital home.

Oh well.... Where will Commodore International be?
