|    Second report on Commodore at CES    |

XPost: comp.sys.cbm, rec.games.video.classic       From: rbernardo@iglou.com              Saturday, January 7, 5:15 p.m.. It was deja vous. There I was again at       Consumer Electronics Show, the day almost over, me standing behind the       Commodore booth, putting on my coat and C= buttons, tired from rushing       there. I had only 1 1/2 hours of sleep, and I was running on adrenalin.              As I got ready to jump into the "lion's den" once more, Ian Matthews,       representative for Commodore at CES popped from around the corner. He       needed to take a breather; he had been continually talking with the       attendees since 8 in the morning and had no more than a hot dog to eat and       nothing to drink. I sympathized with him, talking about my lack of sleep       and having eaten just a piece of pie and drinking a little iced tea       earlier. Then he talked about having dinner with Chuck Peddle Friday       night.              "Chuck Peddle is here?!" I cried in astonishment.              "Yes, he lives almost in the area."              Envious of his meeting such a Commodore legend and wanting to meet Chuck,       too, I said, "I hope he comes to the show."              "He is one of the heroes of Commodore."              "Along with Bil Herd, Dave Haynie, Dale Luck..." I replied.              "Yeah, Bil is great."              "Matthew, do you think you have time to answer my questions?" and with a       flourish I pulled out a list of printed questions that were in my notepad.              "Let's do it."              "All right!"              We walked over to the NavigatorCombo talbe and sat on the benches.              "I even have a copy of the questions for your, " and I handed him a set,       which he promptly started studying. "Well, what do you prefer? I can ask       the questions and write down my notes really fast. Or...," and I hauled       out my Digital 8 camcorder, "I can audio-record or videotape you."              "No, I really look bad."              "I could record your voice."              "I don't sound too good after talking for hours yesterday and today."              "Aw, you sound fine. Your voice is still deep and resonant," I reassured       him.              He smiled and agreed to the audio-recording. Just then a business-type       came up to ask questions about the NavigatorCombo. He apologized for the       interruption, but I told him to go ahead while prepped my equipment.       About 5 minutes later, Matthew finished his talk with the business-type,       and we began the interview.              (to be continued)               Now having to transcribe a        45-minute interview,        Robert Bernardo        Fresno Commodore User Group        http://videocam.net.au/fcug              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
