   Of course there is a design benefit when using fast RAM chips!  The bits and   
   bytes do not have to travel as far on read/write operations.    ;-)   
      
   On the other hand there is a benefit to placing the RAM on one end of the   
   board, and the processor on the other end.  Since the data takes longer to   
   get to there, you can use slower RAM chip, which cost less.  Remember, one   
   thing that Jack and Irving agreed on is that cost reduction is great!    ;-)
