etworks.com.au> 7104150b       After many years I decided to pull my c64 out of the closet and see if it       would still work. All that was required was to open it up and re-seat some       of the chips to get it working again, surprisingly the C2N still loads the       only tape game that I have.. 'Impossible Mission'.              Unfortunately the drive no longer works and I am asking for some help to get       it working again.              I recently scored some rockwell 6522 and 6502 chips off ebay and have       performed the following steps to try and get it up and running. In addition       I used the opportunity to install some sockets to make chip replacement easy       in future.              The original symptoms were as follows       * Both lights staying on upon power up and drive motor keeps spinning.              After replacing the original MOS 6502 MPU.       * Drive light flashes once every 2 seconds              Swapped the 6522 chips with the rockwell ones, problem is still there. I       also installed sockets for the logic chips and replaced them but the problem       is still there.              I am running out of options, the only chip I haven't replaced is the SRAM       chip which I am having trouble finding.              Will replacing the SRAM chip fix the problem ?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
