It happened something like this...              As a promotional gimmick, Commodore offered a $100 rebate to anyone offering       any computer or game console as a trade in when buying a C64. A New York       chain called Crazy Eddy started selling the cheap Timex TS-1000 for $10 so       that customers could get the rebate. Commodore was flooded with thousands of       the cheap TS-1000 computers. Commodores marketing department asked the       engineering department to find a use for them. The engineering department       started using them for doorstops, as they were useless for anything else.              Anyone with additions or corrections to the above story, please type now, or       forever keep your fingers still.       --       Best regards,              Sam Gillett              UFO's are real.       It's the Air Force that doesn't exist!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
