The only list I "gleaned information from" is the clickable list on Jeff
Ledger's site, which I gave credit for at the beginning of the list. Well,
that, and taking the basic format from Snakeman's old list. I tried
contacting him, but to no avail. He seems to have disappeared. Anyway,
other than that, I used the list from Jeff Ledger's site, and "called" each
and every board on the list, gathering information about each board from the
"Information" file on the board, as well as from the SysOps themselves,
about hardware, software, location, etc. It was quite an undertaking, I
think... But I also thought it would be useful for people to have a "one
stop shop" sort of list that gave detail about all Commodore boards
   currently in existence.

Oh, and I didn't "slap my name" anywhere on the list. I do give my e-mail
address for updates, and I'm hosting the list on my website, but the only
place that "Andrew Wiskow" appears on the list is as the SysOp of my own
   BBS.

   > BTW, why
   > list dial-up boards that aren't up and telnet boards that aren't telnet
   > boards?

The only dial-up board I listed that isn't currently up is The Village,
which is the ONLY board still in existence that was on the original list. I
explain in the "Comments" for that board that it is currently down, but that
it will be back soon. Lord Ronin assures me that he's close to bringing it
back online. When Snakeman maintained this list, he wouldn't take boards
off the list when they were "temporarily down", but he'd add a comment to
advise people of that fact. I'm just continuing to do the same thing.

As for Telnet boards that aren't Telnet boards... I can only assume that
you're referring to my own board. And I explain that in the "Open status
verified" remark. I have my BBS all set and ready to "go Telnet" as soon as
I return from my two-week trip to the Portland area. I just didn't want to
bring it online as a Telnet board now since I won't be at home and will be
unable to validate new users for two weeks. I like to do that within 24
hours. And I didn't want to list it as a dial-up board since it will only
be one for another two weeks.

   I hope this explains everything...
