XPost: rec.games.video.classic       From: commodorus@commodore.rules              X-No-Archive:yes              The C64 had numerous arcade games and thousands       of games that were never, ever released on the NES.              The Master System had beautiful colors, but not that many       great games. Most NES games couldn't compete with the       C64, especially music-wise. The SID beat them all.              Some games were only bought because Master Hubbard made       the music.Check the High Voltage SID archives and you'll hear       what I mean. SMS, NES,5200, Coleco and 7800 can't compete.              The C64 didn't have flickering sprites as the consoles had. The C64's       sprites could be 320*200 and often were multicolor/hires overlayed.       The C64 could also produce more than 16 colors, as seen in some       games and many demos.              On the C64, games were cheap on cassette. Every disk-drive       owner had pirated games. There are thousands of games,       commercial ones, public domain and games from cover disks.              Every C64 owner has to agree that the C64 beat the NES and       the SMS (and the lame ATARI 7800) back in the day. From 1982       on to the late 80s the C64 was the TOP 8 Bit system.              What is Super Mario compared to Great Giana Sisters? Nothing.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
