XPost: alt.gossip.celebrities       From: eat@joes.com              Last night my "signed" 8x10 photo of Charlize Theron arrived in the       mail, and I was stunned, because I was sure a hottie like her wouldn't       respond to my request. This is the biggest coup in my tiny collection       of celeb head shots, and I want to share with everybody else how to do       it.              All you have to do is write a polite letter to her talent agency, with       an SASE, and they will send it to you. The address is              Charlize Theron       c/o United Talent Agency       9560 Wilshire Blvd. #500       Beverly Hills, CA, 90212              Other sites that provide advice on how to do this suggest a brief letter       of no more than two or three paragraphs, but I do it slightly       differently. I'm an excellent writer, so I compose as well thought out       a letter as I possibly can, and cover several topics.              The topics are -              1) All the cool touristy reasons why she should visit my state. Of       course, she won't, but people like to be invited, anyhow. Stars have no       idea what is outside NY and LA, since it's all flyover country to them.              2) My comments on her career, why she's super hot, what future moves she       might make, and how I'm sorry she hurts herself so much.              3) A brief description of myself, my work, my ambitions and why I'm a       good guy              4) A well-crafted proposition, which she also won't accept, but if you       phrase it correctly, she'll still be flattered. I wouldn't recommend       this for anyone else, unless you're particularly expert in writing love       letters, but if you must try, be creative and subtle.              All told my letter came out to just under three pages, and it's getting       sufficiently polished that I can just change a few details and use it       for any star I want to get a photo from.              Important items I had to purchase were 8.5x11 in backing boards from a       comic shop, to reinforce the pic, 8.5x11 in manila envelopes, as an       SASE, and 10x13 in manila envelopes to hold the 8.5x11 in envelope.              That's all you need to know to do the job, which will hopefully work as       well for you as it did for me. Good luck!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
