   The cocaine is mixed with a flavoring.  It makes snorting it more   
   pleasant and also is "something different" when you are bored with   
   straight coke.  It's normally mixed with something strongly aromatic,   
   like strawberry, lemon or vanilla.   
      
   It's not a new fad and has been happening since at least the 19th century.
