   That's one area of culture that didn't get explained too well in   
   these multicultural times.  WASPs don't tend to snoop on their   
   kids, ethnic Americans do.  That's probably changed since   
   Columbine, etc, but generally, (and that point made in the other   
   posts about the ELR episode) snooping is an ethnic thing.  So is   
   the helicopter mom stuff, but that is also creeping into WASP   
   culture.   
      
   Heaton is Catholic, and until very recently, that was considered   
   ethnic in Ohio.
