How can you ever be sure your       readers will actually see your quotation marks, or understand them       correctly if they do see them? No way. Same as for smileys :-) . And lots       of newsreaders (the software sort, not the bipedal featherless       wetware-driven variety) have no idea either how to indicate quoting (for       quoted passages) or how to display quoted material so as to make plain the       various levels of quoting. Likewise re sig delimiters. MS and Google nntp       wares are infamous for their failings in those regards; and MS and Google       users, in many instances, are little better. Our mutual PreMenstrualCramps       correspondent fits that description to a "T", dontcha think?              If this response displeases, my apologies; won't happen again (in this       thread), unless I just can't help myself :-) .
