   The funny thing about passing on the right in some states is that it's   
   not illegal, for example, in California to pass someone on the right,   
   whereas in other states back east, it's illegal to not be in the   
   right lane if there is plenty of room.   
      
   I don't know if it's an east-coast versus west-coast thing or not, but,   
   in California, they don't seem to care as much about staying to the right   
   when there is plenty of room to do so.   
      
   They do seem to restrict truckers from the left lane in certain   
   circumstances, but, back east, it seemed, to me, that they were   
   more stringent about lane control.   
      
   As you said, in Germany, *nobody* is gonna pass you on the right,   
   but, boy oh boy, when they pass you on the left, they're moving!
