   No.  It means they were willing to follow rules and put in time.   
   Critical thinking is NOT a requirement.

   One of the less intellectually-able jocks in my HS class became a   
   thoracic surgeon.  I wouldn't let him operate on me, but I guess a lot   
   of other people did.

   Given the idiotic spew that comes out of college students now, I don't   
   think education means all that much any more.
