   One other detail that I found out by calling Verizon on behalf of a friend,   
   is that if you have *any* time left on a current contract, then you can't   
   trade in *any* phone against that service contract (until the contract   
   expires).   
      
   Another detail is that on the Verizon plan (but not the T-mobile plan), you   
   have to *pay* $27/month for two months which gets credited at the third   
   month, whereas on T-mobile, they charge you $6.88 and then immediately   
   spread that $6.88 over all your phones in your contract, so that the only   
   cost (they say) is the sales tax.
