   Unfortunately, Google Fi won't do *just* the tablet, but T-Mobile *will* do   
   *just* a free 200MB/month data SIM for all USA tablets.   
      
   So, unless you get a *great* deal on tablet data, the 200MB/month free is a   
   pretty good deal in and of itself. In fact, with Google Hangouts/GV, you   
   turn the iPad into a "real" phone, with its own phone number which is both   
   callable from POTS lines and which can call, for free, POTS lines.   
      
   That free T-Mobile data-only SIM doesn't work in Europe though (ask me how   
   I know), so, as always, the devil is in the details.
