   Perhaps to the average user those omissions from earlier phone models   
   may not be a big problem. But I would have thought techies would want to   
   keep all the functionality on their devices that they could. Seems not.   
      
   At least the Pixel still has an earphone jack, though without the card   
   slot it's off my list.
