|    This smartphone is driving me nuts    |

I'm am old guy and I have never owned or used a smartphone. My       cellphones have always been flip phones. I intend to keep my flip phone       for actual phone calls. That phone is a prepaid Tracfone.              I just bought a smartphone. I got one made for Tracfone, in the event I       decide to swich my phone service to the smartphone. However, the only       reason I really bought the smartphone is because I want a portable       device to use for WIFI internet. And I wanted a better camera than the       really crappy one on my flip phone.              At this point, I have no intention to get service on this smartphone.       Like I said, I only plan to use it at WIFI spots and for picture taking.              The phone is a ZTE zfive 2 (Z837VL).              But I am trying to set it up and it's driving me nuts.              First, it insists on a pin# or password. For my uses, I do NOT want anyt       sort of pin or password. No one else is going to use it anyhow. But it       refused to go to the main screen without the use of a pin or password. I       finally fed it a very basic pin# out of frustration.              I am working on it at home, where there is no WIFI. All I can get at       home (on my rural farm), is dialup internet. That works fine for email       and usenet, but is worthless for the web.              After finally entering this unwanted Pin#, I got to the main screen. I       selected the camera, and I saw my desk for a moment, then it went to       some google page that insists I enter something, and the camera went       away. There is no way out of that goddamn google page except to shut off       the phone and start all over again. I have now dont that 3 times and       still am unable to take a picture. Why is it doing that? I just want to       take a picture?              Also, is there any way to eliminate all the pin numbers and passwords. I       dont want or need any of that stuff....              This is a lot more confusing than I ever thought. I'm beginning to think       that maybe I am just too old to use a smartphone. and should just return       it to the store.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
