   A high school senior was touring the Harvard College freshman dormitory

   As he was leaving the slate-roofed sturdy brick building, he encountered a   
   distinguished-looking man carefully stepping down the well-worn smooth

   The man looked down his nose and replied, "Son, I'm a Senior Lecturer in   
   the Department of English where I can assure you we use proper modal verbs   
   and we don't end our sentences with prepositions. Please presently re-cast   
   your request in a proper form, whence I will graciously reply."   
      
   "Could you tell me where Widener Library is at, twit boy?"
