Apple may have trouble finding 5G modems for 2020 iPhones if it doesn't make
   its own
   o

   FACT + LOGIC:

More certain proof Apple is _woefully_ behind in _all_ modem technology
(not just woefully behind in the super critical 5G modem technology).

It's not like a modem isn't one of the most important features of a phone.

   The result:
o *Apple iPhones already have the slowest modems (67% slower today)*
o *Apple iPhones will have even slower modems (in 2019 released iPhones)*

   FACT:
   Direct quotes:
"Apple may only be planning to add 5G to 2020 iPhones, but even then
the company might have a hard time acquiring needed modems"

"There are four scenarios, 'none of which is ideal...'":
      1. The first is to wait for a Intel modem, but the company might still
end up with a chip without millimeter wave - a technology that enables the
fastest form of 5G, albeit with short ranges. HINT: Likely

     2. Apple could order modems from Samsung, which has already announced a
5G phone, but that might be expensive given Samsung's strong negotiating
position. No other chipmaker is said to be ready to offer off-the-shelf 5G
parts ¡X except for Qualcomm. HINT: Unlikely

   NOTE: What happened to MediaTek?

     3. Qualcomm is the third option ... but... There have been no signs of a
settlement in the two corporations' worldwide legal battle, and Apple's
core lawsuit is slated to go to trial next month. HINT: Unlikely

     4. The fourth and least likely option would be Apple buying out Intel's
modem business and finishing work itself, described as "VERY difficult
against a 2H20 timeline." HINT: Impossible

     5. The report skips a fifth option - Apple making its own without
   external input. HINT: Doubly Impossible

   LOGIC:

Notice what this means, in terms of iPhones falling even further behind.
o Apple already has the slowest modems out there today (67% slower)
o Apple will drastically fall behind in both 2019 and 2020 models

IMHO, this is eerily similar to Ford's huge advertising campaign of
"Quality is Job 1" where Ford spent too much money on merely advertising
quality that didn't exist while Toyota spent their money on delivering it.

The huge question is whether Apple can _ever_ even get close to Android
speeds on the iPhones of 2019 and 2020 and well beyond?

As with Ford Quality versus Toyota Quality ...

When you advertise only IMAGE - but you never deliver - then
only the gullible and truly faithful will believe in you (because it's all
image, and no facts to them).

However, a phone being the slowest on the block is a big deal if you want
to sell that phone at a premium price.

Faking the performance image can only take a phone so far in price.

   FACT + LOGIC:
o For iPhones to _continue_ being the slowest out there
o Is going to hurt that advertising campaign which sells only IMAGE
o Because Apple can't deliver on the most important aspect of a phone
o Where only the gullible few fools will fork out a premium price
