   Their network will use any of those frequencies that are available on a   
   given mast and to work your phone needs to accept most of them too.   
      
   You need to know which frequency(s) your local mast is using.

   If you had one of those smartphones you so despise it would be able to   
   show you the location of your nearest mast on a map and the bands it was   
   capable of supporting. I know how to find this info in the UK the long   
   way and I presume there must be a similar app for US mobile telecoms.
