   I ported my home number to Google Voice years ago, and I use an Obihai   
   SIP adapter to connect to the analog phone wiring. No charge for Google   
   Voice, but if you want E-911 service you have to sign up for that with   
   someone else. It's amazing that anyone is still paying for AT&T landline   
   service (or Vonage or Ooma or MagicJack).
