Our Google Voice number (ported from AT&T to T-Mobile@Home,       and from there to GV) forwards to the PhonePower-assigned number (which       very few people know), and our outgoing calls "spoof" that GV number --       but of course we had to confirm/authorize that spoofing; is that still       going to be legal, or will the proposed new legislation prevent that?              The whole porting thing is a mess, IMNSHO: it's impossible to be sure of       the geographical location of a caller. I know of at least two countries       where cell-phone numbers have a special "area code" (or codes).              Perce              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
