Colonialism is passe. Occupying an ungrateful population is nothing but
trouble. The USSR learned that lesson well and in the early 1990s told
all those ungrateful people in Eastern Europe to go fuck themselves. The
US should have learned that valuable lesson in Vietnam, but was stupid
enough to spend 20 years of blood and fortune to occupy a population of
   ungrateful tribesmen in Afghanistan.

There will not be "occupation by an invading force". You need to get
that shit out of your head.

There is not need for occupation. The good thing about "democracy" is
that politicians can be bought. You buy up all the mainstream media to
manipulate public opinion, and pay the politicians on both sides of the
aisle, then you are set to get what you want.

Those are "snowbirds" flying south every winter to avoid shuffling snow
out of their driveways. Many French Canadians from Quebec would fly to
Louisiana to reminisce the French province they never had.
