   As I said in previous posts, colonialism is passe. China is making good   
   money in wheeling and dealing. China is already the world's dominant   
   manufacturing powerhouse.   
      
   The US might have just shot itself in the foot and dethroned the US   
   dollar as the world reserve-currency (the US dollar  dethroned the   
   British pound-sterling after WWII) by imposing economic sanctions on   
   Russia. China and Russia will decouple from the US dollar and start   
   using their national currencies in international trade, and the rest of   
   the BRICS countries will follow.   
      
   Chinese military is still playing catch up but it is moving fast. It is   
   buying a lot of military technology from Russia in the form of   
   technological transfer. Russia is happy to help China because a weak   
   China will endanger the national security of Russia. That is the reason   
   Russia helped China to help North Vietnam to repel the US invasion of   
   Vietnam in the 1960s.   
      
   In science and technology, China has already surpassed all countries in   
   quantum communications and nuclear fusion (not fission) power   
   generation. China has its own satellite global positioning system, and   
   its own space stations, and all those happened in the last 30 years.   
   That's an incredible feat, I must say.   
      
   If the US continues on its current path, it will be break up into many   
   new states in a few decades. Empire rise and fall. Nothing is permanent,   
   you know, if you look back into history.
