   Belarus is a staunch ally of Russia. Lukashenko knows who's the boss and   
   he won't bite the hand that feeds him. Belarus and Russia were   
   conducting joint military drills in Belarus along the Ukraine border the   
   week before the invasion, and Belarus was the staging ground for the   
   initial invasion of Kiev on day one.
