When the sky lands on your head, you've missed the opportunity to prepare.

All indications are that it will get worse, but it's good to have
hope... On the other-hand hope doesn't pay the bills, and as inflation
eats the heart out of your life, it's nice to have created a bit of a
golden parachute so that you don't crash and burn. No reason to plan
any less for disaster than for retirement... you may die before you
retire or the disaster may never hit but why spend your life planning
   one and not the other?

The question is do you retire with Millions of dollars or just Social
Security? And do you prepare for a small hurricane or winter storm and
expect a week without food and water, or maybe you plan for a GRID
FAILURE and a month or two without power, you decide the same as you
decided retirement. Because when it steps up a notch from the GRID
FAILURE to economic collapse and the economy collapses then your
disaster plan may become your retirement plan.
