And we can probably agree that those items are not "arms". They are
tools and mechanical systems. Not protected by the fact we have an
unlimited RIGHT to KEEP and BEAR the items referred to by the limiting
   term of "arms".

The only limitation is the term "arms" which rules out everything that
isn't "arms" as being what we have the unlimited RIGHT to keep and bear.

Making arms uncommon and "not used" by passing laws to hinder their
keeping and bearing doesn't remove them from being "arms". They are not
only what is in common use but what free people use to stay free.
Remember the first part of the 2nd Amendment.

   \
   Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
   infringed.
   /

A Well regulated Militia meaning well "armed" and competent Militia that
comes from the well armed and competent use and familiarity with their
   "arms".

Being necessary to a free State, means that without an armed and
competent portion of WE THE PEOPLE being ready to be called to arms, as
the last resort of the FREE STATE, freedom would fail and die.
