[continued from previous message]              power. China built coal fired power plants for it's own GRID system. I       read that it was one coal electric-plant a week being turned on.                     *END ADDENDUM* <-/                            You're playing a shell game with the numbers and moving the numbers       around to count the EV's as if they're NON CARBON BASED transportation       when all you do is put more load on the grid that can only be met with       more fossil fuel. Even if you started a program to change the grid to       100% solar/wind in the next 5 years it would take another 5 years for       those completed systems to reach CARBON NEUTRAL and begin to produce       energy that's free from CO2 that it took to manufacture and transport       and erect and maintain. And by the time they are Carbon neutral they       will be starting to become less efficient and have more failure from age       so the first ones that started producing will start wearing out like the       EV cars will do and the defectively assembled panels and turbines and       cars will begin to fail meaning that as they all came on line for the       sustainable power you'd have to start replacing the older or first ones       you installed that will likely be the first to fail... which means that       at this time, you're a long ways from having an efficient or sustainable       grid that can charge efficient or sustainable EV's.              I actually like the idea if it's in a place where the infrastructure of       the grid and the population density is high... in fact I think that the       EPA are idiots because they should be basing much more environment       protection based on population density rather than running around       managing mud puddles out in rural areas and deserted farm land. States       and cities have their own EPA and health departments and public safety       DEPARTMENTS because it's NOT a Federal Power and they should base their       local regulations on local population density at least at the State       levels of regulation.              That way they might encourage EV's use in the high density parts of a       city or State that has a very extensive Electric GRID to support them.              Plan a faster and better EV traffic pattern by making every 5th street       in the city an EV only street, or make it a one way street with one       *center lane* being EV only convince cabs and Uber's to go electric...       buy all city vehicles electric... allow free parking for private EV's on       city owned property.              And population density would make them work. CO2 isn't the problem but       density and noise and other noxious exhaust and heat and stop and go       energy use might make it worth while.              And businesses that need a high density customer base to pay those high       minimum wages might want to have EV's and at home/office or business       charging of the EV cars that would be better than seeking a gas station,       because it saves on stops and time for employees while they wait in fuel       lines. The cars would be charging any time they're back at their desk       and over night.                                   --       -That's karma-              The result is DEMOCRATS lies about history and reality to themselves and       others means their attempts to figure-out what's wrong is an exercise in       futility, because what they think they know they really don't know, and       fixing problems without the truth... becomes a fools errand.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
