XPost: talk.politics.misc, uk.politics.misc, soc.culture.british       XPost: alt.politics.uk       From: d@ray              London, United Kingdom – A ‘tyrannical’ new extremism definition unveiled       by the UK government could be disastrous for pro-White organizing across       the country. Penned in the wake of a global surge of anti-Israeli rhetoric       since October 7th, the new law would seek to block certain political groups       from funding on the basis of perceived “violence, hatred or intolerance.”              Ministers announced the new extremism definition on Thursday, which came       into immediate effect. It now spells “extremism” as “the promotion or       advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that       aims to:              > 1. Negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others; or       >       > 2. Undermine, overturn or replace the UK’s system of liberal       > parliamentary democracy and democratic rights; or       >       > 3. Intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve       > the results in (1) or (2).”              While it is unclear which groups would be specifically targeted for an       extremism classification, the government promised a forthcoming list.       During a parliamentary hearing, however, MP Michael Gove specifically named       the pro-White civil rights organization Patriotic Alternative as an example       of a group deemed worthy of government repression.              “I am sure we would agree that organizations such as the British National       Socialist Movement, and Patriotic Alternative, who promote neo nazi       ideology, argue for forced repatriation, a white ethnostate, and the       targeting of minority groups for intimidation,” said Gove during the       hearing. “…Are precisely the types of groups about which we should be       concerned and whose activities we will assess against the new definition.”              “The activities of the extreme right-wing are a growing worry. The       targeting of both Muslim and Jewish communities and individuals by these       groups is a profound concern requiring concerted action,” he continued.              Under the previous definition, which was created in 2011, extremism was       considered a “vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values,       including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect       and tolerance of different faiths and belief.”              The new definition has since been described as more narrow and concise,       allowing those in power to focus their efforts on specific groups more       easily. Alarmingly, the new definition also sees the formation of a new       governmental body, “the Counter-Extremism Centre of Excellence,” designed       to “gather intelligence” and “identify” so-called extremist groups and       individuals.              The UK Government asserts that groups subjected to the new extremism       definition would not be criminalized in the way that terror-designated       groups already are. Instead, officially classified extremist groups will be       barred from government funding and meeting officials. Groups will be able       to appeal the classification through a “potentially costly” judicial       review.              The latest move by the UK government to undermine pro-White organizing and       civil rights efforts has already been met with harsh rebuke. Mark Collett,       head of Patriotic Alternative, called the new definition the actions of       “petty tyrants” who are merely “losing their grip on power.”              “Patriotic Alternative are mentioned in Parliament in relation to the new       ‘extremism’ laws,” said Collett on his official Telegram page. “The       state       is now moving to brand anyone who advocates for anything other than       ‘liberal democracy’ as an ‘extremist’. These are actions of petty       tyrants       that are losing their grip on power.”              In an open letter to Gove, PA demanded to be removed from the extremism       list, and refuted the claim that it was seeking to establish a so-called       “white ethnostate.” Additionally, they accused Gove of using his       parliamentary privilege to echo misleading claims about PA, calling the       move “communism by the back door,” and highlighted Gove’s ardent support       for the state of Israel, a double standard considering its own extreme       views on race and nationality.              Deputy chief of Patriotic Alternative, Laura Towler, pointed out the sheer       hypocrisy behind the new definition, which would see her and other PA       activists unfairly targeted by the state.              “If (Michael Gove’s) new measures are implemented, it would see the named       groups (including PA) barred from engaging with ministers and government       officials and individuals who are part of the groups will be banned from       receiving honours or public appointments,” said Towler on Telegram. “Now do       you people believe us when we say we’re unfairly targeted by the government       and Electoral Commission?”              “To them, we’re extremists. To us and many other Britons, they’re       extremists by their own definition as they refuse to allow groups to take       part in the democratic process and send people to prison for criticising       the government’s actions and results,” she said in another.              The UK Government’s latest act of neoliberal repression against pro-White       nationalists comes amid several high-profile arrests targeting organizers       with heavy-handed “extremism-related” crimes. Just this month, Patriotic       Alternative’s Sam Melia—husband of Laura Towler—was sentenced to two       years       in prison, effective immediately, for stickers containing messages critical       of mass immigration into the British homeland.              Despite his stickers being classified as truthful and legal by a Leeds       court, he was ultimately convicted over the state’s perceived belief that       he intended to “stir up racial hatred” with his political views.              Patriotic Alternative, as an organization, had also come under attack by       some of the UK’s top diversity czars, over a Christmas toy drive for White       children. Citing Britain’s Equality Act of 2010, the government claimed       that PA’s charitable efforts were “discriminatory,” and threatened legal       action if they continued to help White families. The move seemingly ignored       dozens of charities in the UK that exclusively benefit Black, Asian,       Minority, and Ethnic (BAME) individuals at the expense of White ones.              "British people exist as a distinct group of people. We are the English,       the Scottish, the Welsh, etc. We should be the overwhelming majority of the       population of our homeland: Great Britain," said Laura Towler on Telegram.              "I will never apologise for wanting that, and Patriotic Alternative will       never compromise on this stance. It’s something that the majority of              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
