|    2004 Teenie Beanie CRAZE!    |
|    25 Jul 04 06:54:55    |
From: bretwiersbe@mindspring.com              McDonald's is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Happy Meal. For       the next four weeks, we are once again treated to Teenie Beanie Babies.       However, there were no lines, no midnight madness, and no sold-out       Beanies. There aren't any lengthy cyber-board discussions about this       year's promotion. Although on one website, someone did make an effort       to take digital photos of a Happy Meal box from about six different       angles! Even with original styles and improved quality, it seems the       Teenie Beanie craze is over. This is no surprise to us long-time       collectors. We knew the craze ended during the 1999 promotion. One       local McDonald's still has the 1999 International Bears available for       purchase. They're stockpiled behind the deep-fryer. But I'm a sucker       for tradition, so I purchased the three Teenie Beanies offered during       week one of the promotion. No, I didn't go to Cal City at midnight but       I did make an effort to get up at 6:00 am on Friday .... just in case.              ~ Bret ~              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
