   I store my beanies in lined plastic boxes.  I usually buy a roll of silver   
   inlay that reflects light so it will preserve the coloring of the beanie for   
   years.   
   But ultimately the trick to preserving beanies is to throw some liquified   
   starch and bleach on a rag and insert that into the container first then   
   place   
   the beanie in second, seal...shake and store.  Its a technique thats been   
   used by most avid beanie collectors for awhile now.
