I have recently bought a 1484 that has had all of the metal pieces chrome   
   plated. It's a pretty average job with a lot of blemishes, and from what I can   
   see they were not originally chrome.   
      
   Can anyone with an original 1484/1494 tell me what the finish is of the metal   
   pieces? I believe it's just anodised aluminium but I'm not sure as I haven't   
   seen an original in person.   
      
   In a lot of pictures I see online the keyboard surround and a small strip   
   above the keys are pink or blue. Is this painted or anodised?   
      
   Any help is much appreciated.
