   If the spindle lift assembly is not going all the way down, then I would   
   start with looking for gummed up works. As I recall it is pushed down by   
   the cam system, but I am way too rusty to be certain of this assembly.   
      
   Any chance something is getting in the way of this going down properly?   
   A cable or bit of misc./ stuff?   
      
   This cam setup should at least show up in the diagrams/photos showing   
   the other adjustments. Do you have the manual?
