Any ideas?       >       >       >       >              Not uncommon for a select number or letter coil to short out on these       machines - leading to fuses blowing.              The solution is to get the service manual and then do a resistance check       on the letter and number coils - which can be done from the sockets on       the underside of the selection assembly. Painful (hard on the neck being       upside down) but doable with some practice, and avoids removing the       assembly if you aren't certain that it is a shorted coil...              If you trust your mechanical skills then remove the selection assembly       (you will need to anyway to replace the bad coil) and then test the       coils on your bench.              Do not forget to use the provided centering pin (that black metal pin       with the 'E'-clip, about three/four inches long, clipped to the inside       left wall of the cabinet under the mechanism shelf) or a Phillips       screwdriver (#3 I think - 1/4" dia. shaft) to align the assembly once it       is reinstalled...              John :-#)#              --        (Please post followups or tech inquiries to the newsgroup)        John's Jukes Ltd. 2343 Main St., Vancouver, BC, Canada V5T 3C9        Call (604)872-5757 or Fax 872-2010 (Pinballs, Jukes, Video Games)        www.flippers.com        "Old pinballers never die, they just flip out."              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
