From: shoppedmachine@gmail.com              I just picked one up last night and I have some questions.              1) There is a torn speaker cone on the upper left speaker. I see ads for       "Jukebox speakers" but really, do I need one? Is it functionally different       from an off the shelf speaker of the same or better specs? Or is it really       just a matter of staying true to the original Jukebox design that I would go       out and buy a set of Rowe speakers from that era?              2) I'm getting a loud hum. I figured that it might need to be re-capped,       does anyone sell a cap kit or will I need to just sift through the schematic       and place an order someplace for all of those caps?              2A) The plug on the unit doesn't look hacked, but there is no ground prong.       It's not cut off, it's just not that kind of power plug. In the schematic       it shows a plug with a ground prong. I thought that maybe lack of ground is       contributing to the hum. What do you think? DO I replace the power cable       with one that has ground?              3) I picked up the unit late last night, but I didn't get a really good look       at it before leaving my house today. It appears that many parts come out.       I need to get it into my basement. Is it advisable to remove what I can       before moving the cabinet? I'd like to make it as light as I can before we       try to wrestle it down the stairs.              Thanks for any advice!              --              -------------------------------------------------------------------       Williams F-14 as-it goes noob rebuild blog:       http://shoppedmachine.blogspot.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
