   Do you have credits on either unit?  Or is it on free play?  If these   
   are the units I'm picturing, the wiper arm has 2 "home" positions.  One   
   is home with no credits, other is home with credits.  If you can advance   
   the arm a little then the buttons work, you have to add credits by using   
   coins or changing them to free play.  That will make the wiper advance   
   to the 2nd home position.
