   Rowe Ami amplifiers do not work in that way, a few substitute amplifiers made   
   in the UK by Rainbow did. I would think that you have a faulty pre-amp board   
   or in some way you have    
   shorted out the volume control or volume control cabling. What happens when   
   you remove the volume control plug from the amplifier? Regards Alan Alan Hood

   It stays at full volume. I checked for short at cable and plug on amp. I   
   thought maybe they had componet that was usually the cause. I guess mostly I   
   was trying to save time.
