I am going to do what you suggested and I will let you know what happens.  It   
   is definitely worth a shot. I did check the brushes and wipe them off with a   
   clean cloth, they were very dirty but not worn down. Thanks for the picture. I   
   know exactly where    
   to look now and have some feeler gauges that might work for that.
