a1378e6f       What you are describing are the classic symptoms of shorted turns in an       armature.              This is common in Rock-Olas and persistent right up to the last record playing       machines.              What happens is that one or more armature windings get shorted and draw       excessive current.              If the motor comes to a stop on good windings it may be able to start and the       short will only cause slower rotation and heavier current. Eventually the fuse       blows.              When the starting point has the brushes on the defective winding, the fuse       blows instantly.              Rob/NYC              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
