I'm having a problem with the volume cutting out on the left channel. When the
volume is low I have very little sound coming out of the left channel. If I
   start cranking it up
when I get over half way I hear some crackling then I get sound out of the
left channel and it works fine. Where do I start?

That worked, the volume now behaves just like it should, I used DeOxit.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
