|    JAZZ LPS ON EBAY    |
|    22 Aug 05 13:51:31    |
I'm back from vacation and ready to roll - with 16 jazz lps listed       and       4 new cds!              Although I rarely offer cds, jazz piano fans are going to love these.              They are the first       four cds in the Maybec Recital Hall concert series issued by Concord.              They are all solo piano by Joanne Brackeen, Dave McKenna, Walter       Norris       and Dick       Hyman. They were listened to only once, and there is some wonderful       material on       them. They are being sold for $4.99 each. If anyone on this list wins              all three, I offer       free shipping!              The Lee Konitz Subsconscious-Lee is one of Konitz' greatest recordings              - many of       the tracks with Lennie Tristano. It is the original Prestige issue       with       the Bergenfield       address - a rare find. And in excellent condition at that.              There are several lps still being auctioned at a starting price of 1       cent. That includes       a facinating lp with Andre Previn and Itzhak Perlman with a fine back       up of Red       Mitchell, Jim Hall and Shelly Manne.              Two other 1 penny lps for violin fans - and they are both exceptional.              One is       Stephane Grappelli with Joe Pass on Pablo and another with Grappelli       paired with       fellow Frenchman, Jean Luc Ponty on Inner City. I am expecting both       items to stir up       some excitement.              Another rare find is the Anita O'Day recording, issued on Anita O'Day       records. The       performances are hard core and very moving.              The Pee Wee Russell Ask Me Now lp is a near legendary recording of the              swing/dixie clarinetist delving into music by John Coltrane, Ornette       Coleman and       Thelonious Monk. He was exceptionally well suited for this music       despite his       background, and it was well put together by Marshall Brown. It is on       the Impulse       Label. It is offered for a penny. I've seen it listed for $15 and       more!              The New York Jazz Quartet is a beautiful lp with Frank Wess, Ron       Carter, Ben Riley       and Roland Hanna. It is delicately put together, and their       performances       are uniformily       wonderful. They only put out a few lps, and they are all first rate.              Those of you who like later period Art Pepper will enjoy Roadgame - an              lp with       George Cables, David Williams and Carl Burnett. He reallly stretches       out here, with       only 4 songs on the lp.              Those are just some of the highlights. There are many more.              To take a look at the entire auction use this link:       http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcsatennis              Nice to be back and I look forward to hearing from all of you.              As always, feel free to email me any time for more information and       pictures. I'll give       you the best service I can.              Happy bidding! See ya Sunday.              bob              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
