|    BARGAIN JAZZ LPS ON EBAY    |

There are several very interesting lps in this       week's group.              Among my favorites are Stan Getz' 50th birthday lp       with Joanne Brackeen. It's       a double album with a fine quartet and plenty of       room for the soloists.              Also, a wonderful and very rare Coleman Hawkins       recording with Thad Jones       and Eddie Costa!              Clare Fischer's Surging ahead is a rare Pacific       Jazz release that should be       interesting to collectors Barney Kessel has a       swinging trio lp for a penny,       Warren Vache's maiden voyage called First Time Out       is subtle and attractive.              I love virtually anything by Lee Konitz, and his       lp on the original MIlestone label       with Ron Carter called Spirits is up to his       legendary status.              Dinah Washington has rarely been captured as well       as she has on the Quincy       Jones outing issued on Mercury with some fine       solos by Quentin Jackson,       Clark Terry and Lucky Thompson. Speaking of Lucky,       there is an album of his       own, pairing him with Martial Solal called Jazz       Legacy.              And also, speaking of Quincy Jones, is a really       fine recording of Bossa Nova       type tunes with lots of solo space for Clark       Terry, and Roland Kirk, among       others.              The Newport Jazz Festival lp is the typical jam       session. Side one is up temp,       side two features a variety of ballads. Excellent       outings by Zoot Sims, Clark       Terry and Joe Newman stand out in my mind.                     Among the others is a staraight forward quartet       with trumpeter Jonah Jones, a       really fine Harry James Capital recording, Chick       Corea from his fusion days, a       quartet with the unheralded but highly regarding       violinist Claude Williams       featuring Jay McShann.              You can see all of them and click on the links for       more information, by going to       http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcsatennisQQhtZ-1                            And, as always, please email me if you have any       questions, want more details,       or would like other pictures. I can try to send       you a track from an album you       are generally interested in as well. My email is       jazz@csatennis.com.              Look forward to your bids this week.              Bob              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
